When traditional medicine let us down, we did not give up there. We tried everything. Everything has helped, but nothing has been a cure. That would have been a dream. Here’s the list of the things we have tried:
- Cognitive therapy
- CBD and medical marijuana
- Fisher Wallace stimulator
- Gluten-free diet
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
- LSVT Big
- LSVT Loud
- Massage therapy, lymphatic massage
- Meyer’s drips with glutathione
- Psychic healers
- Physical therapists
- Stem cell replacement therapy
Once when Richard was at the office of his acupuncturist, Kym, he got up off the table when she was in another room and walked out on his own into the street. With the needles still in him. Luckily Kym saw him and rushed out to say, “Hey, Richard, where are you going?”
“Going home,” he said.
“Why don’t you come back inside and we’ll wait for Ava,” she said this in a normal voice. Then she calmly got his needles out and sat with him in the waiting area until I returned. They chuckled about it later. But to state the obvious, I was not allowed to drop him off and pick him up after that. On-site guard duty was required.
Nuplazid came out for Lewy body hallucinations in June 2016, and it has been a gift from the heavens. Richard still sees extra people, but they aren’t nearly as scary. Pity it didn’t come out years earlier. Life would have been a bit smoother.
